Tiger Woods car crash: Latest updates from police

Tiger Woods was involved in a rollover crash on Friday afternoon near his home in Jupiter Island, Fla., according to reports.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office, according to reports, is investigating, and details of the crash, including any potential injuries, have yet to be released. WPTV has posted photos from the site of the accident.

In 2021, Woods was involved in a one-car crash outside of Los Angeles, sustained multiple injuries, and was hospitalized for three weeks following surgery. In a statement at the time, Woods “suffered significant orthopedic injuries to his right lower extremity that were treated during emergency surgery.” The injuries included “comminuted open fractures” in the tibia and fibula, requiring a rod to be inserted into the leg.

In 2017, Woods was also arrested in Palm Beach County on suspicion of driving under the influence. Woods later pleaded guilty to reckless driving, agreeing to pay a $250 fine and attend DUI school.

On Tuesday, Woods played with his team in TGL, an indoor simulator-based league.

The Deep Dive: Golfers with powerful, repeatable swings can get the most out of Tour-level golf balls like Srixon’s Z-Star, Z-Star XV and Z-Star Diamond, but the reality is most golfers don’t swing the club like Brooks Koepka, Hideki Matsuyama or Keegan Bradley. For years, the Q-Star franchise has lived in that space that provides excellent greenside spin, solid distance off the tee and a softer feel than Srixon’s most-premium offerings, but for 2026, Srixon didn’t just tweak the Q-Star family. The Japanese company sharpened it.

Let’s start with the Q-Star Tour, the three-piece, urethane-covered model built for players who want short-game control without the hard feel of a 100-plus compression ball. It remains at 74 compression, which means it will feel softer with every club in your bag, but this generation gets Spin Skin+, Srixon’s most advanced coating, designed to increase friction between the cover and your wedge grooves. The result is more stopping power on approach shots and more grab on chips, pitches and other shots around the green.

The cover itself is still ultra-thin urethane, but Srixon has added a new material it calls Biomass. It’s a plant-based material that reduces carbon emissions during production of the ball, so while it doesn’t enhance performance, it allows Srixon to create the same level of feel, spin and speed while reducing the environmental footprint.

Inside the Q-Star Tour, the FastLayer Core transitions from soft in the center to firmer toward the edge, a design that helps gofers with a driver swing between 85 and 100 mph maximize speed while keeping iron and wedge shots feeling responsive. It’s paired with Srixon’s 338 Speed Dimple pattern to reduce drag early in flight and maintain lift as the ball descends, resulting in a mid-high trajectory that’s stable in the wind.

For golfers who want that same performance but crave visual feedback, the Q-Star Tour Divide returns with meaningful updates. The 2026 version features a glossy urethane cover with Biomass and Spin Skin+ for the first time, to go along with the two-tone color design. The 360-degree seam line helps with alignment on the greens, and the spinning strobe effect makes it easier to see the degree and rate of spin on chips and pitches.

If you practice short-game shots, the Divide can also provide feedback. Miss a wedge slightly thin or open the face too much and you’ll see it immediately in how the colors blur. The Q-Star Divide is available in white/pink, white/lime green, yellow/red and yellow/orange.

Then there’s the new Q-Star Ultispeed with Trackline, which leans more heavily into speed than Q-Star Tour balls. It’s a three-piece, ionomer-covered ball with an 85 compression that is built around an updated FastLayer Core and the same 338 Speed Dimple pattern to promote a high, penetrating flight. The Ultispeed should provide ample short-iron and greenside spin compared to typical distance balls (but not as much as the Q-Star Tour).

The attention-grabbing feature is Trackline, a two-stamp alignment system. One side of the ball maintains a traditional look, while the bold graphic on the other side can be lined up on putts or used to monitor roll and spin. Think of it as a subtler cousin to Divide, designed for golfers who want help with alignment but prefer a more classic aesthetic.

In short, the 2026 Q-Star family offers three distinct answers to the same question: how do you get more performance without swinging harder? If you want maximum greenside control and a soft feel, Q-Star Tour is the play. If you’re a visual learner who wants to see your line and spin, Q-Star Tour Divide adds feedback. If distance is priority one, Ultispeed with Trackline brings speed with just enough spin to keep things playable.

FootJoy updates the Premiere Series with new, lighter outsole

The new Packard and Marquis for both men and women adds updated traction and comfort refinements in classic-looking leather designs.

FootJoy is updating one of the most recognizable silhouettes in golf footwear, and it’s doing so without abandoning what made the shoe popular in the first place.

The company has unveiled the 2026 Premiere Series, a refreshed lineup that blends traditional, dress-shoe styling with a series of performance upgrades aimed squarely at competitive players who want a high-performance, traditional shoe. According to Footjoy, Premiere Series models account for roughly 40 percent of shoes worn on the PGA Tour, and the new versions are built around feedback from Tour players and elite amateurs.

The men’s lineup will feature the Premiere Series Packard and Marquis, while women will see updated Packard and Madison models. All four are constructed with hand-selected, full-grain leather uppers and detailed finishes that keep the classic wingtip and saddle aesthetics that have defined the franchise.

While the looks remain timeless, there are meaningful changes underfoot. Each model now features FootJoy’s new ARCTrax outsole technology, a spiked platform designed to deliver increased traction and stability in a range of conditions. For players who prefer a traditional leather golf shoe but demand modern traction and stability, the updated Premiere Series continues to be a solid choice. The styling remains rooted in FootJoy’s century-long shoemaking heritage, but the platform underneath is keeping up with the modern game and player preferences.

The Deep Dive: There’s always been a clear pecking order inside Wilson’s golf ball lineup, and the Staff Model family continues to sit firmly at the top. While balls like the Duo and Triad are built to solve specific problems for recreational golfers, the Staff Model and Staff Model X are designed with elite performance as the starting point. For 2026, Wilson Golf didn’t reinvent that formula for the Staff Model and Staff Model X, the sporting goods giant refined it.

Both balls remain four-piece designs with thin, cast urethane covers, but the internal construction has been reworked to separate what the balls deliver off the tee and how they behave around the greens.

Wilson updated the core composition of both balls for 2026 with what the brand refers to as V-COR. It works to improve energy transfer at impact and push ball speeds higher, particularly with the driver and long irons.

The standard Staff Model is the softer of the two offerings, checking in with a compression of 90. It’s built with a soft rubber core that is encased in a mantle to manage driver spin. On top of the inner mantle, Wilson added a second, firmer ionomer outer mantle to help maintain ball speed. The outer mantle is capped with a thin urethane cover designed to give wedges and short irons something to grab. Compared to firmer Tour balls, Wilson claims the Staff Model produces lower spin off the tee and with irons, which should appeal to players who want a more penetrating flight and a slightly softer feel at impact.

The Staff Model X has a compression that is 10 points higher than the standard Staff Model (100), so it remains the firmer, faster option of the two, although Wilson has softened its feel and sound compared to the previous generation after feedback from Tour players.

The updated X uses a smaller, mid-compression core, a soft inner mantle for improved acoustics and feel, and an extra-stiff ionomer outer mantle to keep ball speed high. A very thin urethane cover completes the package, preserving the greenside spin characteristics better players expect. While it’s still positioned as the ball, the 2026 version is designed to spin a bit less off the driver than the 2024 version, without giving up control into the greens.

Aerodynamically, both balls use a 362-dimple pattern designed to optimize flight and carry. Both models are available in white and yellow, as well as with Wilson’s TRK360 alignment system, which adds 360-degree visual lines around the ball to aid aiming and provide feedback during putting practice. The alignment graphic doubles as a training aid: a clean, end-over-end roll signals solid contact, while any wobble quickly exposes a mis-hit.
