Featured final-round grouping

Eric Cole will arrive at Colonial Country Club on Sunday with a unique opportunity in front of him. If he can hang onto the one-stroke lead he’s built up over 54 holes in Fort Worth, he’ll earn the first PGA Tour victory of his career. If he hopes to break through on the biggest stage, he’ll have to hold off a couple of talented pros playing alongside him in the final grouping.

Just a stroke behind Cole’s 12-under lead sits Ryan Gerard, who is seeking his second career Tour victory after winning the Barracude Championship last summer. Playing alongside the duo will be Mac Meissner, who is another stroke behind and is also looking for a maiden victory. The trio will go off in the final group of the day at 12:55 p.m. ET.

It’s a crowded leaderboard at the halfway point in Texas, where Jordan Smith leads the charge at 10 under par through 36 holes, but 23 other players are within four shots of him, including major winners Brian Harman and Hideki Matsuyama (-9), J.J. Spaun (-8), and Gary Woodland and Keegan Bradley, both of whom are six under par.

A win on Sunday would be the first of Smith’s PGA Tour career. The 33-year-old Englishman has one other top 10 on his resume this season — a solo third-place finish at the Valspar Championship in March.

Smith will play in Saturday afternoon’s final grouping alongside Michael Thorbjornsen and Ryan Gerard at 1:15 p.m. ET.

Alex Fitzpatrick is on one heck of a heater.

Just two weeks after dramatically earning his PGA Tour membership by getting up-and-down on the final hole of the Zurich Classic with his brother Matt to earn his membership, and a week after earning a top-10 in his PGA Tour debut as a member, Fitzpatrick holds the 54-hole lead at a PGA Tour Signature Event.

The younger Fitzpatrick brother is on the brink of earning his second PGA Tour win and first as an individual, all without taking a break to celebrate his first. Fitzpatrick was scheduled to play in last week’s DP World Tour event, but his T9 earned him more money than even winning in Turkey and should he hold the lead this week he would earn $4 million.

But there’s plenty of star power looking to foil his dramatic three-week run. Last week’s winner and reigning Players Champion, Cameron Young, is just two shots back, while two-time major winner, including at Quail Hollow in 2017, is five back.

Fitzpatrick will go off in Sunday’s final group at 1:45 p.m. with fellow rookie Kristopher Reitan.

On Sundays, you can assume this honor goes to the final pairing. And maybe you even saw the players coming too. 

Matt Fitzpatrick? He’s surging, after a win four weeks ago at the Valspar Championship and a runner-up finish a week earlier at the Players Championship. He’s also at home at Harbour Town — he won the RBC in 2023, and his family vacationed at the course when he was younger. 

“It’s a course that I love,” Fitzpatrick said Saturday, after he finished the third round as the leader by three. 

Then there’s his closest pursuer, Scottie Scheffler. For a while, the world No. 1 has been playing better golf than, well, everyone. And he also has good vibes at Harbour Town, having won the RBC a year after Fitzpatrick. 

“It’s a special and unique place,” Scheffler said earlier in the week. 

On Sunday, the duo tees off at 1:50 p.m. ET.

Max Homa was coming off two straight missed cuts when he arrived at Augusta National for last week’s Masters. He then went out and surprised everyone.

Homa put together a solid four-round campaign in the first major of the year, earning his best finish of the season in the process: a T9.

Beyond securing a spot in next year’s Masters, Homa’s great Augusta finish should provide him with plenty of momentum at this week’s RBC Heritage, where he’s trying to get back into a PGA Tour winner’s circle for the first time since 2023.

After opening the RBC Heritage in the afternoon wave on Thursday, Homa will switch to an early start on Friday.

Homa will tee off for the second round of the RBC Heritage on Friday at 10:25 a.m. ET alongside Sudarshan Yellamaraju.

The 2026 Valspar Championship concludes on Sunday March 22, with the final round at Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, Fla. You can find full Valspar Championship tee times for Sunday’s final round at the bottom of this post.

Final-round featured tee time

Sungjae Im has not hoisted a trophy on the PGA Tour since 2021. But on Sunday at the Valspar, he has a chance to end that drought.

Im, a 27-year-old from South Korea, enters the final round at Innisbrook alone atop the leaderboard at 11 under. After a third-round 69 — his second consecutive two-under round — the two-time Tour winner will sleep on a two-stroke lead.

His playing partner for the final round will also be seeking to end a winless drought.

Brandt Snedeker, the 45-year-old and upcoming U.S. Presidents Cup captain, will tee it up in the final pairing alongside Im as he seeks his 10th Tour victory. Playing in the 1:50 p.m. tee time, Snedeker will start the day two shots back as he tries to get in the winner’s circle for the first time since 2018.

Tied with Snedeker in second place is David Lipsky, while Marco Penge and Matt Fitzpatrick sit another shot back.

Featured tee time? There are a few contenders for the honor. 

There’s your last group, of course. At 1:55 p.m. ET leader Sungjae Im and David Lipsky go off. And they follow Doug Ghim and Chandler Blanchet, who start at 1:45. 

But the nod here might have to go to the 1:15 grouping. There’ll you find Brandt Snedeker, who’s five back of the lead, and Gary Woodland, who’s four off the pace. They’re a couple of vets. They’re a couple of good stories. 

We’ll start with Sneds. He’s this year’s U.S. Presidents Cup team captain and a nine-time PGA Tour winner — but is titleless since 2018. Injuries have slowed him. But he’s back. A strong showing this week would be encouraging.   

“It’s nice to show my son and kids I can still do this every once in a while,” the 45-year-old said. “But that being said, good golf after two rounds is a whole different thing than good golf after four. So we got two more rounds to go prove it, so I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Then there’s Woodland. He’s another one of pro golf’s good guys, and he’s the 2019 U.S. Open winner. But a lesion on his brain required surgery, and last week, he revealed he was battling PTSD because of what he’s endured. 

His golf form this week, though, has him thrilled.

“It’s been coming,” Woodland said. “I’ve been hitting it nice on the range, our practice sessions have been really good. I just haven’t translated it to the golf course.”
