This week’s CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch has just two players inside the top 30 in the Official World Golf Rankings. Luckily for the PGA Tour, they’ll be dueling on Sunday.

After three rounds in Dallas, Si Woo Kim leads Scottie Scheffler and Wyndham Clark by two shots. Kim flirted with a 59 on Friday and held a five-shot lead entering the weekend. That edge evaporated by midway through Saturday’s round as both Clark and Scheffler caught Kim on the back nine. But Kim steadied the ship and played his final seven holes in 3 under to take a two-shot lead into Sunday’s final round as he looks for his first win since the 2023 Sony Open.

Kim and Scheffler will be paired together on Sunday. The two live in Dallas and often play together. Kim knows he won’t be the favorite on Sunday as Scheffler tries to track him down and successfully defend his title.

“I think no matter what, it’s going to be fun, especially Dallas, kind of like my second hometown,” Kim said. “He grew up here. It’s going to be a lot of fans cheering for him. I know, of course, everyone’s cheering for him. it’s going to be fun. I was hoping for a pairing with Scottie. Yeah, it’s going to be fun Sunday and fun to go with Scottie.”

Players went off in threesomes on Saturday but will go off in pairs on Sunday.

Clark and Stephan Jaeger, who is four shots back of Kim, will go off at 1:30 p.m. ET, with Kim and Scheffler following at 1:40.

5 things to know for Sunday https://ultragolfing.com/5-things-to-know-for-sunday/ https://ultragolfing.com/5-things-to-know-for-sunday/#respond Sun, 17 May 2026 14:11:40 +0000 https://ultragolfing.com/5-things-to-know-for-sunday/

Only one round remains at the the 2026 PGA Championship, and by the looks of the leaderboard at the 54-hole mark, we’re in for quite a finish.

Let’s break it all down. Here are five things to know for Sunday at Aronimink.

The leader

Multiple players shared the lead for the first two rounds, but there is just one player at the top of the leaderboard heading into Round 4: Alex Smalley. At six under par, Smalley has a two-shot lead on the field. The 29-year-old has never won on the PGA Tour but has been on quite a run for the last few weeks, finishing no worse than T21 in his last five tournaments, including a runner-up finish alongside Hayden Springer at the Zurich Classic.

The contenders

Chasing Smalley is an incredible collection of contenders, with 22 total players who are within five shots of Smalley’s lead. That group includes major winners Jon Rahm (-4), Patrick Reed (-3), Rory McIlroy (-3), Xander Schauffele (-3), Hideki Matsuyama (-2), Cameron Smith (-2), Martin Kaymer (-2), Justin Rose (-2), Scottie Scheffler (-1) and Brooks Koepka (-1).

A grid of 18 professional golfers, each smiling in hats, appears under the title Pick Your Fighter and 2026 PGA Championship, srcd like a video game. Their scores and names are displayed on yellow and blue backgrounds.

Scottie’s big task

The defending champ got off to a promising start in Round 1, sharing the lead at three under par. But two straight rounds of 71 on Friday and Saturday have left him with an uphill battle on Sunday: five shots back, with a giant group of talented players to muscle through. Not impossible, but admittedly not likely.

Rory chasing more history

No matter what happens on Sunday, the fact that Rory McIlroy has a chance to win this major is pretty stunning. His opening round was grim indeed — a four-over 74, good enough for T105 on the leaderboard after Round 1. But McIlroy bounced back on Friday with a 67 to get himself to within five shots of the lead with two rounds remaining. And he kept the pedal down on Saturday with a third-round 66. Now, McIlroy is three under overall, three shots back, with a chance to win a seventh career major and keep dreams of a calendar-year slam alive.

Action-packed timeline

Given the sheer number of big names in he mix for the final round, CBS cameras will have their work cut out for them. Scheffler’s twosome tees off at 12:05 p.m. ET followed by 13 more pairings until you get to the last tee time of the day, Smalley and Matti Schmid at 2:35 p.m. ET. That’s a two-and-a-half-hour time block of legitimate contenders!

Who will emerge as the victor? The day seems destined for drama. Don’t miss it! Click here for everything you need to know to watch the final-round action at the 2026 PGA Championship.

The 2026 Truist Championship concludes on Sunday, May 10, with the final round at Quail Hollow in North Carolina. You can find full Truist Championship tee times for Sunday’s final round at the bottom of this post.

Alex Fitzpatrick is on one heck of a heater.

Just two weeks after dramatically earning his PGA Tour membership by getting up-and-down on the final hole of the Zurich Classic with his brother Matt to earn his membership, and a week after earning a top-10 in his PGA Tour debut as a member, Fitzpatrick holds the 54-hole lead at a PGA Tour Signature Event.

The younger Fitzpatrick brother is on the brink of earning his second PGA Tour win and first as an individual, all without taking a break to celebrate his first. Fitzpatrick was scheduled to play in last week’s DP World Tour event, but his T9 earned him more money than even winning in Turkey and should he hold the lead this week he would earn $4 million.

But there’s plenty of star power looking to foil his dramatic three-week run. Last week’s winner and reigning Players Champion, Cameron Young, is just two shots back, while two-time major winner, including at Quail Hollow in 2017, is five back.

Fitzpatrick will go off in Sunday’s final group at 1:45 p.m. with fellow rookie Kristopher Reitan.

You can watch Sunday’s final round of the 2026 Truist Championship from 1-3 p.m. ET on Golf Channel, followed by network coverage on CBS from 3 p.m. until the conclusion. PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ will provide exclusive early streaming coverage starting at 7:30 a.m. ET on Friday, in addition to featured group and featured hole coverage. SAN DIEGO, CA– Sunday Golf, the golf bag brand advocating for lefty golfers, has officially unveiled the company’s first left-handed golf bag designed to be carried over the left shoulder. The full-size, Ryder Lefty bag is specifically designed and catered for the oft-forgotten and marginalized left-handed golfer. The bag is truly an industry unicorn in a market that’s vastly designed for right-handed players.

“Our Ryder Lefty bag has been years in the making and was built specifically based on customer feedback, Brand Manager Camden Wicker said. “We had dozens of people ask for this style golf bag ever since we came out with our first full-size bag and after seeing that there wasn’t an option on the market for lefties it really became a no-brainer. To all the lefty golfers out there, this one’s for you!”

The Ryder Lefty bag incorporates all of the same features that are seen on the company’s standard Ryder bag – a 5-way top, full-length dividers, frosty pocket, valuables pocket, smell-proof pocket and external glove holder. The bag weighs 4.9lbs and comes with a lifetime product warranty.

Sunday Golf first burst onto the scene in 2020 with the Par 3 Loma bag and have since made a name for themselves with a full lineup of lightweight golf bags. The company’s Ranger bag was recently recognized by MyGolfSpy as the 2026 Staff Pick for Stand Bag of the Year. and the company has done previous bag collaborations with 7-Eleven, Whataburger and Sierra Madre.

The Ryder Lefty bag retails for $249.99 and is available exclusively at sundaygolf.com.

The 2026 RBC Heritage continues on Sunday with the fourth round at Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina. You can find full RBC Heritage tee times for Sunday’s fourth round at the bottom of this post.

On Sundays, you can assume this honor goes to the final pairing. And maybe you even saw the players coming too.

Matt Fitzpatrick? He’s surging, after a win four weeks ago at the Valspar Championship and a runner-up finish a week earlier at the Players Championship. He’s also at home at Harbour Town — he won the RBC in 2023, and his family vacationed at the course when he was younger.

“It’s a course that I love,” Fitzpatrick said Saturday, after he finished the third round as the leader by three.

Then there’s his closest pursuer, Scottie Scheffler. For a while, the world No. 1 has been playing better golf than, well, everyone. And he also has good vibes at Harbour Town, having won the RBC a year after Fitzpatrick.

“It’s a special and unique place,” Scheffler said earlier in the week.

On Sunday, the duo tees off at 1:50 p.m. ET.

You can watch Sunday’s fourth round of the 2026 RBC Heritage from 1-3 p.m. ET on Golf Channel, followed by the CBS broadcast starting at 3 p.m. ET. PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ will offer exclusive early streaming coverage starting at 7 a.m. ET on Sunday, in addition to featured group and featured hole coverage.

Rory McIlroy kept his cool Masters Sunday. This revealing data proves it https://ultragolfing.com/rory-mcilroy-kept-his-cool-masters-sunday-this-revealing-data-proves-it/ https://ultragolfing.com/rory-mcilroy-kept-his-cool-masters-sunday-this-revealing-data-proves-it/#respond Tue, 14 Apr 2026 04:37:20 +0000 https://ultragolfing.com/rory-mcilroy-kept-his-cool-masters-sunday-this-revealing-data-proves-it/

Ever wondered what it really feels like to win a major championship? Most of us will never experience it — but we can get a glimpse into the physiology behind the highs and lows of a major Sunday thanks to data provided by Whoop, the wearable fitness tracker endorsed by Rory McIlroy.

On Monday, Whoop shared McIlroy’s numbers from the final round of the Masters, and one factor stood out above everything else: his composure under pressure.

When McIlroy took a two-shot lead into the final hole, his heart rate told a compelling story. According to Whoop, McIlroy’s resting heart rate is in the  47- to 49-beats-per-minute range, but after his wayward tee shot into the trees right of the fairway on 18, his rate spiked to 135 BPM — a normal response in a high-stakes moment. But McIlroy quickly regained control. By the time he stepped into his second shot, his heart rate had dropped to 121 BPM.

After McIlroy hit his approach into the front greenside bunker, his heart rate rose again to 136 BPM, but he again quickly settled himself. On his par putt, McIlroy’s heart rate fell to 117 BPM before dropping to BPM over his winning tap-in.

The data points to a striking conclusion: In the moments most players tense or speed up, McIlroy did the opposite — he slowed himself down.

The most catastrophic Masters Sunday meltdown never aired on TV

James Colgan

McIlroy exhibited the same pattern of calm and control across the entire tournament. His recovery scores remained consistently high — 87% on Sunday, peaking at 94% — signaling that his body stayed primed. His strain reached 16.8, which reflects sustained effort without tipping into fatigue.

Sleep, often overlooked, also gave him an edge. He logged over 9 hours Saturday night into Sunday (92% sleep performance) and averaged 8.5 hours across the weekend. His resting heart rate stayed remarkably steady, between 47–49 BPM — proof that his elite conditioning and recovery was paying off.

And the workload was no joke: more than 24,000 steps on Sunday alone, and more than 91,000 across all four rounds.

The takeaway? McIlroy has learned to steady himself under pressure. In his most intense moments, he doesn’t let adrenaline take over — he reins it in and regains control. Down the stretch, that composure can make all the difference.

SAN DIEGO, CA– Sunday Golf, the only golf bag brand with a lifetime warranty, has officially released their new Ryder 14 stand bag for golfers who prioritize organization and lightweight carry with full-length dividers. Designed with a 14-way top and full-length dividers for each compartment, the bag marks Sunday Golf’s first 14-way top stand bag that the company is retailing on their site.

Weighing six pounds and boasting 8 pockets, the bag continues Sunday Golf’s now classic tradition of highly functional, versatile and easy-to-carry golf bags. The Ryder 14 also includes staple features that are on existing Sunday Golf bags, including the frosty pocket, external tee and glove holder, velour-lined valuables pocket and smell-proof pocket.

“Over the past year we’ve had countless customers ask for our Ryder bag in a 14-way top,” said Ronan Galvin, CEO and Co-Founder at Sunday Golf. “The Ryder 14 is a next generation bag that gives our customers exactly what they want – the same features they love in our classic Ryder bag but in a 14-way top for more club organization. This bag is built specifically for the people while staying true to our roots – and we love how it turned out.”

Sunday Golf first burst onto the scene in 2020 with the Par 3 Loma bag and have since made a name for themselves with a full lineup of lightweight golf bags. The company’s Ranger bag was recently recognized by MyGolfSpy as the 2026 Staff Pick for Stand Bag of the Year and the company has done previous bag collaborations with 7-Eleven, Whataburger and Sierra Madre.

The Ryder 14 bag will initially be available in Matte Black and Midnight Green colors at select retailers. The bag retails for $269 and will be on sale at Sundaygolf.com in Ma
