It’s been quite a run for PGA Tour purses over the last several weeks, with two straight Signature Events leading into the year’s second major, the PGA championship.

That makes this week’s CJ Cup Byron Nelson the first “regular” tournament on the schedule since the Zurich Classic. And while there isn’t a super-sized payout up for grabs on Sunday at TPC Craig Ranch, there’s still a hefty winner’s check awaiting the victor on Sunday evening.

The stage is set for some juicy drama in the final round, too.

Si Woo Kim’s five-shot 36-hole lead has been trimmed to just two with one round remaining. His closest chasers: defending champ Scottie Scheffler and 2023 U.S. Open winner Wyndham Clark, both of whom are just two shots behind. Six total players are within five shots of Kim’s lead. Kim hasn’t won a PGA Tour event since the 2023 Sony Open while Clark’s last victory was the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

As for Scheffler, he’s looking for his second win of the season — and 21st of his career — after finishing runner-up three times in his last four tournaments.

The 2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson’s total purse is $10.3 million, with $1.854 million designated for the champion.

Even the second-place finisher will clear seven figures, with a payout of $1.122 million. So settle in for an epic Memorial Day weekend Sunday, where some intriguing on-course action awaits. Click here for all the details on how to watch the tournament’s finale.

We’ve reached the final round of the 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii, the first PGA Tour event of the new season. And on Sunday at Waialae Country Club, players will be fighting for their share of the huge Sony Open purse of $9.1 million. But their ultimate payout, of course, depends on where they finish on the leaderboard.

With 18 holes to play, Davis Riley has set himself apart from the pack. Riley’s 12-total through three rounds is good enough for a two-shot lead. But 54-hole leads are notoriously hard to maintain on Tour.

That means the trio of players in second — Chris Gotterup, Harry Hall and Kevin Roy — have a great shot at coming from behind to win. And whoever ends up with the victory will walk away with the $1.638 million winner’s share.

Further down the leaderboard are two three-time major champions who would make waves with a victory: Jordan Spieth and Vijay Singh.

Spieth (six under) is vying for his first Tour win since 2022. Singh (four under), who is 62 years old, is hoping to back up his incredible made cut with an historic win.
