Motocaddy has strengthened its position at the forefront of hands free golf technology with the launch of three new remote control electric trolleys for 2026.

The world leading electric trolley brand has unveiled the M7 GPS Remote, M7 Remote and ME Remote for golfers in the UK and Ireland, expanding its remote control offering at a time when demand for hands free performance continues to surge.

According to Motocaddy, remote models accounted for 46 per cent of its electric trolley sales last year, with remote sales rising by 44 per cent overall.

Marketing Director Oliver Churcher said the new line up offers game changing features across a range of price points.

“These new trolleys take our remote control range to the next level as we offer golfers a selection of game changing features at different price points,” he said. “The brand new M7 GPS Remote is the world’s most advanced electric golf trolley, with upgraded styling and a giant leap in GPS technology. Similarly, the new M7 Remote debuts a bigger screen with enhanced functionality, while the significantly upgraded ME Remote delivers our award winning remote technology at an entry level price point.”

Flagship M7 GPS Remote sets new benchmark

2026 M7 GPS REMOTE

At the top of the range sits the multi award winning M7 GPS Remote, which features fully integrated GPS through a responsive 3.5 inch touchscreen display and more than 40000 pre loaded courses.

The model includes high performance GPS technology with full hole mapping, dynamic green view, front middle and back distances, drag and drop target planning and hazard information. Golfers also receive smartphone alerts via Bluetooth, lifetime GPS mapping and super fast Wi Fi for over the air updates.

New for 2026 is the ability to personalise the GPS interface with shortcuts to preferred features. Users can choose between 2D and 3D mapping, including 3D hole flyovers and panning, along with portrait or landscape views and radial distance markers. Light or dark display modes, round and lost ball timers and a clock are also included.

The trolley has been developed using virtual reality, rapid prototyping and artificial intelligence technologies, and features the brand’s Click N Connect cable free Lithium battery system with automatic power off when folded. A retractable rear anti tip wheel can remain attached for folding.

The M7 GPS Remote will be available from March at an RRP of £1499.99.

M7 Remote enhances award winning performance

Also refreshed for 2026 is the M7 Remote, which delivers a remote range of more than 100 metres and introduces a new 2.8 inch widescreen display.

The updated model includes drive, round and lifetime distance readings, a clock and round timer, plus a new Cartlock PIN code security feature. Golfers can switch between remote and handle control modes and benefit from pause, resume and emergency stop functions.

Like the flagship model, it features Downhill Control, which automatically regulates speed on slopes, and Adaptive Terrain Stability technology that monitors wheel speed and load to maintain straight line tracking and stability.

Dual rotating front wheels improve manoeuvrability, while the Easilock bag to trolley connection system removes the need for a lower bag strap when used with a Motocaddy bag.

The M7 Remote will also be available from March, priced at £1299.99.

ME Remote offers accessible entry point

2026 ME REMOTE
2026 ME REMOTE

The new ME Remote provides an accessible entry into remote control technology, offering responsive forward, left, right and reverse navigation with a range of more than 100 metres.

Significantly upgraded for 2026, it adopts Motocaddy’s modern sporty styling and now features the Click N Connect cable free battery with automatic disconnect and integrated charging port.

It also includes Downhill Control, Adaptive Terrain Stability, a retractable rear anti tip wheel, a high power 28V system and twin rotating front tyres.

The ME Remote will be available from March at an RRP of £1099.99 and comes with a new 24 month trolley warranty.

Across all three models, Motocaddy continues to focus on hands free convenience, intelligent terrain control and integrated technology as remote control trolleys become an increasingly common sight on fairways across the UK and Ireland.

WILSON LAUNCH STAFF MODEL BALLS FOR THE ELITE GOLFER https://ultragolfing.com/wilson-launch-staff-model-balls-for-the-elite-golfer/ https://ultragolfing.com/wilson-launch-staff-model-balls-for-the-elite-golfer/#respond Sat, 18 Apr 2026 13:01:35 +0000 https://ultragolfing.com/wilson-launch-staff-model-balls-for-the-elite-golfer/

Wilson Golf has advanced its award-winning Staff Model golf ball franchise with the introduction of two new tour-calibre performance offerings – the Staff Model and Staff Model X.

Building on the global acclaim earned over the past two years for exceptional all-around performance, the latest four-piece urethane constructions deliver enhanced speed, control, durability and feel for elite players.

Both models are also available in the popular TRK360 alignment-focused design, providing golfers with improved visual feedback and precision on the greens.

“The new Staff Model and Staff Model X golf balls are engineered with distinct performance attributes to meet the needs of different elite players,” said Frank Simonutti, Global Director of Golf Ball Innovation.

“We wanted to build on the momentum we’ve had over the last few years, which is our premium balls stack up to anything else on the market and it’s good to see so many golfers are putting them in play,” he added.

The balls are engineered using advanced V-COR performance technology which utilises a unique core composition to magnify energy and generate maximum velocity off the club face for the fastest ball speeds on the market, according to internal testing*.

Staff Model

The Staff Model ball features a compression of 90, which is 10 points softer that the Staff Model X. This ball is designed for the elite golfer who wants the performance of a Tour caliber golf ball but prefers a lower spin rate than a harder urethane ball.

Wilson Staff Model at address
Wilson Staff Model at address

The 2026 Staff Model iteration produces ball velocity, distance, and a lower spin rate (~ 3.5% to 4%) than “harder” premium urethane balls on both driver and irons. The ball utilises a soft-compression rubber core, a softer inner mantle layer to control driver spin, a hard ionomer outer mantle layer for velocity and distance, and a thin, soft cast urethane cover layer for exceptional spin on approach shots.

The dimple pattern of the Staff Model ball comprises 362 dimples arranged in a modified hexahedral pattern. The dimple pattern is designed to produce the optimum flight trajectory to maximise distance performance.

Staff Model X

The new Staff Model X remains the World’s Fastest Urethane golf ball but now offers a softer feel and sound to address feedback from Wilson Tour professionals.

This was achieved with a construction comprising a small, mid-compression core, a soft fatty-acid modified terpolymer inner mantle layer, an extra-stiff ionomer outer cover layer, and an ultra-thin cast urethane cover.

The softer compression core, compared to the previous Staff Model X, reduces driver spin rate, the soft inner mantle layer provides a combination of velocity and feel/sound, the stiff outer mantle layer provides ball velocity, and a thin, soft cast urethane cover combines with the outer mantle layer to provide exceptional spin on approach shots.

The dimple pattern of the Staff Model X is a 362 hexagonal seamless dimple pattern designed to produce the optimum flight trajectory to maximise distance performance.

For added shelf appeal to global golfers, both Staff Model balls incorporate new eye-catching premium packaging to match its on-course performance.

The Staff Model is now available in a standout Graphite Box design alongside the Staff Model X in its Champagne Bronze colourway.

TRK360

Both the Staff Model X and Staff Model balls are also available with the popular TRK360 design.

The 360-degree visual alignment lines are offered in a muted black and silver stripe to help golfers aim more accurately at their target but not become a loud, visual distraction.

The side seam stamp doubles as a training aid during putting practice, with a smooth, end-over-end roll indicating a well-struck putt, while any wobble reveals an off-centre strike.

Performance Driver Engineered for Those Who Play Hard and Relax Harder

HI-RES IMAGES: LE PTC OPTM Driver

Carlsbad, Calif. – COBRA® Golf, a leader in golf club innovation, continues its celebrated relationship with DJ Kygo and Palm Tree Crew with the latest limited edition COBRA OPTM x PTC drivers. Inspired by a longstanding friendship between Rickie Fowler and DJ Kygo, the new models feature COBRA’s cutting-edge technology adorned with beach-inspired graphics aimed at those who play hard and relax harder.

“Kygo and I have built this partnership over years of friendship, and each collab just keeps getting better,” said COBRA GOLF ambassador and six-time PGA TOUR winner Rickie Fowler. “The new limited-edition driver and headcover deliver TOUR-level performance while capturing Palm Tree Crew’s signature beach aesthetic in a way that feels authentic to both brands.”

Like the standard OPTM X driver, the PTC LE version features impressive technologies including POI (Product of Inertia) Shaping, Adaptive POI Weighting, H.O.T. Face and FUTUREFIT33™. The groundbreaking new low POI design of the OPTM X driver, which is delivered via both improved shaping and adaptive weighting, works with Cobra’s other metalwood technologies to reduce shot dispersion by up to 23 percent. Unlike MOI (moment of inertia), which is a measure of how resistant a clubhead is to twist on off-center hits on the vertical and horizonal axes, POI measures how a clubhead rotates diagonally across all axes at once. For that reason, a high MOI is desired to correct off-center hits while a low POI is desired to deliver more accurate shots that don’t create as much gear effect. The result is tighter dispersion down range.

The new limited-edition COBRA x PTC limited edition driver also features COBRA’s game-changing FUTUREFIT33 ADJUSTABLE HOSEL SYSTEM, which is the most significant and innovative metalwood fitting technology to date. The system allows for 33 unique loft and lie settings that can be adjusted independently, unlocking an unprecedented number of fitting options.

The COBRA x PTC OPTM X driver is now available online and at select retailers. The limited-edition model comes in 10.5-degrees in RH with limited-edition headcover and Mitsubishi 1K Tensei Blue shaft.

Pros

  • Video capability
  • Shot tracer technology
  • GPS shot dispersion map
  • Improved accuracy
  • Measures 6 data points

Cons

  • It is only compatible with iPhone and iPad devices
  • More expensive than most personal launch monitors on this list

Requirements

  • 6 feet of space behind the impact zone
  • iPhone or iPad
  • Wifi or data

Rapsodo claims the top prize, as its robust features, shot tracer, and five data points make it the most accurate of the best golf launch monitors under $500 that I’ve tested. This product takes a different approach to golf launch monitors by including video functionality to better analyze each swing.

For starters, the Rapsodo is equipped with a camera enabling video recording to record each swing for you to review later. You will also notice that it features shot tracer capabilities to show you where your golf ball lands. This is handy to show your buddies proof of your mega drive when they weren’t around to witness it.

I liked the addition of the GPS shot dispersion map, which gave me a clearer idea of my consistency with each club. This allows me to see what side I was missing to the most, so I can adjust my club path.

Furthermore, the club gapping feature is handy because it allows you to see where the distance gaps exist in your bag. You may find that you need to strengthen the loft of one club while weakening the other to close the gap.

Before we look at data, the final add-on is a shot library where you can review results from past practice sessions. I find this helpful for determining my progress over a period. The accurate device measures distance, ball, and club head-speed, launch angle, launch direction, and smash factor.

2. Voice Caddie SC4 PRO – Best for Golfers Who Love Data

Top Pick

Voice Caddie SC4 PRO

Pros

  • Measures six data points
  • Stores historical data on the mobile application to analyze your performance
  • Voice output
  • Instant feedback
  • Portable

Cons

  • Ball speed data is inaccurate compared to premium devices
  • Spin rate data is not displayed on the device

Requirements

  • 6 to 8 feet of space behind the impact zone
  • Android tablet products and smartphones
  • iOS devices
  • Wifi or data

The Voice Caddie SC4 PRO claims the next spot on our list, thanks to its data points, voice output, and portability. It measures 5 factors in your swing using doppler radar technology for a fairly accurate read.

You will find that the device records ball and clubhead speed, smash factor, apex height and carry distance. In addition, it enables you to manually select the vertical launch angle of each club for more accurate measurements.

I noticed that the reads were relatively accurate for an affordable device. For instance, ball speed was 2 to 3% off my standard reading on a GCQuad, but that is acceptable for an average golfer.

Furthermore, the SC4 PRO contains voice output to call out your yardage on shots between 15 and 370 yards. You probably won’t get close to the 370 yards mark, but it is a nice touch. In addition, I enjoyed instant feedback after each shot, as the data appeared on my screen instantly after each strike.

You will find that this launch monitor allows you to adjust the lofts of each club to improve the accuracy of reports. The SC4 PRO syncs with the manufacturer’s iOS and Android mobile application to display historical shot data relating to distance, smash factor, ball and swing speed, spin rate, and vertical launch angle.

3. PRGR Pocket Launch Monitor – Best Budget Launch Monitor

Budget Pick

PRGR Black Pocket Launch Monitor

PRGR Black Pocket Launch Monitor

Uses Doppler Radar and precise algorithms to show your swing speed, ball speed, carry distance, total distance and smash factor for each club. Turn it on, put it down, and hit. No WiFi, no downloads, no apps needed. Captures nearly 100% of shots without “fiddling” with placement.

Check Price on Amazon

Pros

  • Affordable
  • Measures 4 data points
  • Easy to set up
  • Minimal distractions
  • Works for baseball and tennis as well

Cons

  • It measures fewer data points than most launch monitors under $500
  • You cannot review historical data

Requirements

  • 6 feet behind the impact zone

If you are satisfied with a no-frills device that records the basic points, you can save yourself hundreds of dollars with the PRGR Pocket Launch Monitor. It records a modest four data points and does not link with a mobile application. Although PRGR may be an unfamiliar name, it is a brand of the Yokohama tire company.

The pocket size of this device makes it a breeze to transport from home to the range, and it is simple to set up.

You will notice that the PRGR records 4 simple metrics to give the average golfer some insight into each shot. Clubhead and ball speed, along with smash factor, and carry distance, are the only measurements this entry-level launch monitor records.

4. SwingLogic SLX MicroSim – Best Indoor Launch Monitor

Best for Indoor Use

SwingLogic SLX MicroSim

SwingLogic SLX MicroSim

High quality swing stick provided for indoor use. Highest accuracy in its price range using the patented below the grip sensor placement. Experience 3D swing analysis and golf at some of the most famous courses in the world with the expanded content.

Check Price on Amazon

Pros

  • The setup includes a 6-month subscription to E6 Connect
  • Light and easy to setup
  • Affordable
  • Measures 7 data points
  • Offers an affordable home golf simulator option

Cons

  • It does not record any ball data
  • You can’t strike actual golf balls when the clip is connected to your golf club

Requirements

  • Windows PC
  • iOS device
  • Wifi or data

I first learned about this golf simulator when it carried the Tittle X label. Now, it’s produced by SwingLogic, but its functionality remains.

This is an ideal option for golfers looking to practice indoors. The SLX MicroSim is an entry-level simulator allowing you to enjoy the E6 Connect simulator software.

You’ll find that the package includes a swing stick and a micro clip packed with sensors to track your swing. This model records 7 data points, including carry and total distance, club speed, backspin, side spin, swing tempo, and club face angle.

The main attraction of the set is the swing stick, which allows you to generate data metrics without striking a golf ball. Therefore, you can practice in your living room, bedroom or office.

However, you can attach the micro simulator to your actual golf clubs, but you must use foam golf balls. The impact of striking urethane or surlyn can cause the device to come loose. Finally, this affordable device allows you to enjoy the features of a golf simulator, such as playing virtual courses and taking on challenges.

5. Garmin Approach G80 – Most Versatile Golf Launch Monitor Under $500

Most Versatile

Garmin Approach G80

Garmin Approach G80

Features 3.5” sunlight-readable touchscreen display and slim design with quick button access to radar. Integrated launch monitor tracks club head speed, ball speed, smash factor, swing tempo and estimated distance.

Check Price on Amazon

Pros

  • Measures five data metrics
  • GPS yardage on 41,000 golf courses
  • Possesses Plays Like Distance
  • Offers swing tempo training
  • Stores historical data on the app

Cons

  • It is light on data points
  • More expensive than the other options on this list

Requirements

  • 10 to 12 inches of space parallel to the golf ball
  • iOS or Android device
  • Wifi or data

Garmin is renowned for its GPS products that give you access to hole yardage on 41,000 golf courses globally. While the G80 includes this feature, Garmin took it one step further and added launch monitor functionality, making it the most versatile model on the market.

The G80 measures clubhead and ball speed, smash factor, swing tempo, and your estimated distance. Plus, I admired their swing tempo training feature that helps you produce a smoother swing for consistently clean strikes.

You will also enjoy the standard GPS and digital scorecard functions. The GPS provides yardage to hazards, landing zones, and the front, middle, and back of the green, while the scoring feature leaves no need to carry a card and pencil around.

Furthermore, I noticed that the engineers employed Plays Like distance to adapt the reading based on the slope angle for greater accuracy.

The final feature worthy of mentioning is the device’s compatibility with the Garmin Golf App. This enables you to post scores and engage with other golfers. In addition, you can store and analyze stats to gain deeper insight into your golf game.

6. Blast Golf – Best Affordable Launch Monitor For Short Game

For Your Short Game

Blast Motion Golf Swing Analyzer

Blast Motion Golf Swing Analyzer

Record and automatically clip video of each swing and stroke. View and analyze in slow motion with metrics overlaid. Leverage the in-app Training Center for tips and drills from expert coaches and PGA Tour players.

Check Price on Amazon

Pros

  • An excellent option for short game analysis
  • Super affordable
  • Allows you to video capture every swing
  • Apply overlay metrics to your video for a clearer picture of your swing
  • You do not need to hit a golf ball to receive the analysis

Cons

  • It only measures attack angle and your swing tempo
  • It is not compatible with iPhones older than the 8th generation

Requirements

  • iPhone 8 and older
  • Wifi or data

Blast Golf does not offer a launch monitor in its truest form. However, for the price, you receive impressive insight into your swing. Although it works for all swings, I found it most effective with short-game swing analysis.

The sensor that tracks your swing links to a mobile application via Bluetooth. The app must remain open while training to review the analysis of your tempo on each shot.

Besides tracking your tempo, you can record each swing and then apply overlay metrics for a clearer understanding. You will notice that you do not need to strike a golf ball to enjoy the benefits of the analysis.

I enjoyed the simplicity of the Blast Golf sensors. However, they only focus on your attack angle and swing tempo to encourage a fluid swing.

7. Ernest Sports B1 – Best Launch Monitor For Convenience

Most Convenient

Ernest Sports ESB1 Launch Monitor

Pros

  • It measures 6 points in your shot
  • Voice control
  • Record your shots to analyze after training
  • The app gives you access to games and challenges
  • Convenient setup

Cons

  • More expensive than most launch monitors on this list
  • The data is moderately inaccurate compared to a premium device.

Requirements

  • 5 feet of space behind the impact zone
  • iOS and Android devices
  • Wifi or data

The ESB1 personal launch monitor bags the prize of the most convenient device under $500, thanks to its voice control feature and clear data display. Ernest Sports ensured the B1 was compatible with their Range app to enhance your practice experience.

For a simple setup, you can look at the launch monitor after each shot to see 6 data points displayed on the screen. Alternatively, you can add the mobile app to the equation and record and save your swing to analyze later. I noticed that the app also offers games and challenges to make practice more enjoyable.

You’ll see that the app allows voice control, where you can command your phone to start recording your swing without touching a thing.

The doppler radar technology enables the device to record 6 factors in your swing, including ball and club speed, smash factor, distance, launch angle, and spin rate.

Despite carrying a higher price tag than many products on the list, the ESB1 is an ideal launch monitor for the average golfer. It is a quality device that doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg.

8. Swing Caddie SC200 Plus – Best Portable Launch Monitor

Pros

  • Compact and portable
  • More affordable than the SC300i
  • Records 4 metrics
  • Voice distance output
  • The remote control allows you to adjust settings from a distance

Cons

  • It measures fewer data points than other devices on this list
  • It does not sync with an app to store historical data

Requirements

  • 6 to 8 feet of space behind the impact zone

The Swing Caddie SC200 Plus is the predecessor to the SC300i that topped our list as the best launch monitor under $500. Besides apex, it offers all the data points of its successor. Plus, you will also find voice distance output and a remote control. The SC200 Plus is a compact device that is easy to transport to the range.

You will see that this launch monitor measures 4 data points, giving you insight into your carry distance, ball and club head speed, and smash factor. While this is limited compared to other devices, it is sufficient for the average golfer looking for simple insight.

Like the SC300, I found the Voice Distance Output feature convenient, as it saved me from walking over to the device and checking the yardage of each shot. Added to the convenience of the SC200 Plus is a remote control that allows you to adjust settings without touching the launch monitor.

I am acutely aware that this launch monitor exceeds the $500 threshold, but not by much. I wanted to give you an idea of the quality you can acquire if you extend your budget to the $600 mark. I find that the R10 covers ample metrics to provide a detailed analysis of each shot.

You’ll notice that the device is paired with a phone mount that elevates its position for a clear view of the impact zone. The R10 is equipped to measure ball and club head speed, spin, launch direction and angle, and smash factor, which I found sufficient to provide accurate results.

Furthermore, I liked its versatility, as the Garmin app gave me access to hole data on 42,000 golf courses. Therefore, I received yardage to hazards and the front, middle, and back of the green.

Finally, the R10 also acts as an enabler for a home golf simulator, as it is compatible with E6 Connect software. You will enjoy access to virtual golf courses, challenges, and games if you wish to go the extra mile for the complete simulator.

FAQ’s

Is it worth it to buy a launch monitor?

Yes, it is worth buying a launch monitor because it helps you understand your shots and golf swing. Without a launch monitor, it is impossible to monitor swing and ball speed, distance, apex, and spin rate.

Using a launch monitor highlights whether you are improving or regressing during your practice.

How accurate are launch monitors?

Premium golf launch monitors are highly accurate and produce minimal discrepancies, thanks to their robust measurement of club and ball data. However, affordable launch monitors that record fewer data points are less accurate. I find the reduced accuracy is insufficient to impact the average golfer.

When is it worth it to invest more than $500 for a launch monitor?

It is worth investing more than $500 on a launch monitor if you are serious about improving your game and are dedicated to the cause for the long term. An accurate launch monitor with detailed insight will give you a deeper understanding of your swing to slowly tweak and improve your swing.

Callaway Opus SP+ wedges raise CG for lower launch https://ultragolfing.com/callaway-opus-sp-wedges-raise-cg-for-lower-launch/ https://ultragolfing.com/callaway-opus-sp-wedges-raise-cg-for-lower-launch/#respond Thu, 26 Mar 2026 19:07:14 +0000 https://ultragolfing.com/callaway-opus-sp-wedges-raise-cg-for-lower-launch/

A larger Spin Pocket and added tungsten push CG higher to lower launch and increase spin control in the new Opus SP+ wedges.

Gear: Callaway Opus SP+ wedges

Price: $229.99 each True Temper Dynamic Gold S200 shaft and True Temper Icon grip

Specs: Three-piece construction with metal-injection-molded face, cast 8620 body and tungsten in the topline. Three sole grinds and even lofts from 54 to 60 degrees.

Available: March 6

Who it’s for: Golfers who want to lower launch and increase spin on short-range approach shots, pitches and chip shots.

What you should know: The Opus SP+ expands the Opus SP lineup with a larger Spin Pocket and additional tungsten to raise the center of gravity (CG) location and promote a more penetrating, higher-spinning ball flight.

The Deep Dive: Spin on your wedge shots comes from a combination of factors, with most golfers thinking that grooves, and specifically groove sharpness, are the most critical thing. Dull, worn grooves will absolutely make it harder to create spin on chips, pitches and shots hit from inside 50 to 75 yards, but over the last decade, engineers have increasingly turned their attention to something less visible and arguably just as influential: center of gravity placement.

The new Opus SP+ wedges represent Callaway’s most aggressive move yet in that direction.

The SP+ is an extension of the original Opus SP and Opus SP Platinum lineup that debuted in 2024, but it isn’t just a subtle evolution. These wedges feature a re-engineered three-piece construction that combines a metal-injection-molded face plate, a cast 8620 body and strategically positioned tungsten.

However, the defining feature is the Spin Pocket (SP stands for spin pocket). It’s a hollow chamber designed in the lower portion of the head. The idea is that by removing material low in the wedge, Callaway designers could redistribute mass higher in the body and elevate the CG location. In the original SP Platinum wedges, designers did that by adding tungsten to the topline. In the SP+, the Spin Pocket is 25 percent larger than in the original Opus SP, allowing Callaway to push the concept further by adding more tungsten to the topline. In fact, the SP+ contains 23 percent more tungsten than the Opus Platinum wedges. The result is shots should come off with a lower launch, increased spin.

That combination of traits is particularly useful for players who want to control trajectory. A wedge that launches slightly lower with more spin tends to produce a flatter, more penetrating flight. Into the wind, that can mean better distance control. On firm greens, it can mean a ball hops and stops rather than rolling out when you want it to grab.

The face plate has been updated with Spin Gen 2.0 technology. The new design features a 17-degree groove angle and tighter spacing to increase contact between the groove edges and the ball. More groove edges interacting with the cover, according to Callaway, can help maintain spin consistency across a variety of lies. A deeper cross-hatch laser pattern across the face also adds surface roughness to enhance friction, particularly on partial shots.

Visually, the SP+ maintains Callaway’s Tour-validated Shape 6 profile. It presents a compact, clean look at address, with precise leading-edge shaping and refined sole geometry. The shaping reflects feedback from Tour players and is designed to inspire confidence without appearing oversized or game-improvement focused.

Compared to the Opus Platinum models, including limited-edition versions, the SP+ leans more heavily into structural CG manipulation. While the Platinum wedges blend metal injection molding and tungsten placement to deliver a dense feel and controlled trajectory, the SP+ increases both the size of the Spin Pocket and the amount of tungsten to more aggressively influence launch and spin.

Available in three sole configurations and lofts from 54 through 60, the Opus SP+ gives Callaway a wedge option that emphasizes not just spin generation, but how that spin is delivered to create trajectory control. No wedge design is perfect for every golfer. Players who already flight their wedges low may not see a need for additional CG height. But for those who see wedge shots ballooning on full swings or who want to hit more controlled, penetrating shots into tight pin locations, the SP+ could be worth testing.

Shot Scope enters launch monitor market with affordable LM1 https://ultragolfing.com/shot-scope-enters-launch-monitor-market-with-affordable-lm1/ https://ultragolfing.com/shot-scope-enters-launch-monitor-market-with-affordable-lm1/#respond Fri, 27 Feb 2026 23:20:07 +0000 https://ultragolfing.com/shot-scope-enters-launch-monitor-market-with-affordable-lm1/

Shot Scope expands beyond GPS and shot tracking with the LM1, a $199 launch monitor designed to deliver simple, useful data without subscriptions.

For years, Shot Scope has lived comfortably in the space between obsessive data nerds and everyday golfers who just want to know how far they hit it and where the round went sideways. The Scottish company built its reputation on shot tracking, GPS watches and laser rangefinders that quietly collect information without turning golf into a science experiment.

Now Shot Scope is stepping into a new lane.

The company has rolled out the LM1 Launch Monitor, its first foray into the launch-monitor category and a clear signal Shot Scope wants to be part of a golfer’s practice life, not just their rounds. Available starting March 26, the most eye-popping number associated with the device is hard to believe: $199.99, with no subscription fees. In a category where prices can quickly drift into four and five figures, that alone will make plenty of golfers pause and take notice.

The LM1 is designed to be simple, portable and approachable. It uses radar-based technology to measure core ball data such as ball speed, carry distance, total distance, launch angle, and smash factor. In other words, it tells you how fast the ball is going, how high it launches and how far it actually flies, which are the building blocks of understanding your swing and your contact. Set it up behind the ball, hit shots and review the numbers through Shot Scope’s ecosystem without needing a monthly subscription to unlock your own data.

That simplicity is the point. The LM1 is not trying to replace a tour-level launch monitor or turn your garage into a simulator bay. It does not measure club path, face angle, or angle of attack. It does not provide spin-axis data, shot-shape modeling or video swing capture. There is no virtual golf, no courses to play indoors and no promises of fitting precision down to the last decimal. This is a practice tool, not a teaching studio.

And that limitation is exactly why it may appeal to the right golfer.

If you are the type of player who wants to know whether your 7-iron really carries 150 yards or if that number only exists on perfect summer days, the LM1 gives you honest feedback. If you are trying to understand gapping, ball speed consistency or whether solid contact is actually happening more often, the data is there without the intimidation factor. It fits neatly into Shot Scope’s broader philosophy: measure what matters, then get out of the way.

The LM1 is launching alongside two other products that reinforce that same idea. The new H50 handheld GPS is aimed at golfers who want detailed hole maps and green contours but would rather not wear a watch. The LoopOne GPS speaker combines audible distance information with full-course mapping and a built-in speaker, blending utility with a little fun. All three products feed into Shot Scope’s growing ecosystem, which also includes the updated Shot Scope 6 platform that organizes more than 100 performance metrics, including Strokes Gained, into something golfers can actually use.

There is a common thread here. Shot Scope is not chasing the most features or the flashiest tech. It is chasing relevance. The LM1 will not tell you everything about your swing, but it will tell you enough to make practice sessions more meaningful. For many golfers, especially those curious about launch monitors but unwilling to commit to premium pricing or ongoing fees, that may be exactly the point.

Interest Builds Around TPT Pulse Putter Shafts Following Launch https://ultragolfing.com/interest-builds-around-tpt-pulse-putter-shafts-following-launch/ https://ultragolfing.com/interest-builds-around-tpt-pulse-putter-shafts-following-launch/#respond Thu, 26 Feb 2026 08:24:03 +0000 https://ultragolfing.com/interest-builds-around-tpt-pulse-putter-shafts-following-launch/

Renens, Switzerland – Following the launch of its new Pulse putter shaft platform, TPT Golf is seeing growing interest around a product that brings the brand’s performance-led engineering philosophy to the greens.

Pulse marks TPT’s first dedicated putter shaft family and represents the evolution of technology that has already proven itself at the highest level of the game. Until now, variations of this construction had only been available through limited, bespoke LAB putter builds on Tour. Pulse takes the same principles and applies them to a standalone shaft platform designed for use with traditional putter heads and standard hosel configurations.

Built using the same Thin Ply Technology that transformed TPT’s wood shaft category, Pulse has been engineered with a breakthrough four-ply construction to deliver ultra-low torque and exceptional consistency. This design allows the shaft to remain stable through impact, promoting consistent face control and reliable roll on every putt.

Central to the Pulse concept is the separation of feel from performance. All three Pulse models deliver identical performance characteristics, including sub-1° torque and uncompromising stability, with differences between models determined purely by flex profile and feedback. This allows players and fitters to tune feel and tempo without altering roll characteristics or consistency.

Each Pulse shaft is manufactured using TPT’s fully automated, no-human-error production process. By removing manual layup variability, every shaft delivers the same precision, uniformity and repeatability ensuring that performance remains constant from shaft to shaft.

In keeping with TPT’s design philosophy, Pulse features no cosmetic paint or unnecessary layers. By eliminating excess material, the shaft preserves its exact balance, responsiveness and feedback, delivering what TPT defines as raw performance, engineered function without distraction.

The technology underpinning Pulse has already been validated through extensive Tour use in custom putter builds, where consistency and stability under pressure are paramount. By making this platform widely available, TPT extends Tour-level precision beyond bespoke applications and into modern fitting environments.

“Performance drives everything we do, and putting is no exception,” said a TPT spokesperson. “Pulse was developed to deliver absolute consistency while allowing feel to be matched to the player. By keeping performance identical across the range, we’ve removed compromise and given fitters and players a more reliable framework, one that’s already proven itself at the highest level.”

Pulse shafts are offered in a standard 0.370″ tip configuration and are designed to integrate seamlessly with traditional putter heads.

Pulse is now available for further technical evaluation, with shafts, supporting data and engineering insight available on request.
