McLaren’s new venture, McLaren Golf, today announces its official launch alongside the introduction of its debut irons; the Series 1 and Series 3.

First unveiled in March, McLaren Golf represents a natural evolution of the brand’s high-performance mindset – translating decades of engineering expertise from motorsports and automotive design into the game of golf.

Built by a dedicated team of golf industry specialists and world-class engineers who have been immersed in McLaren’s ways, the new venture is focused on delivering precision equipment for golfers who share McLaren’s obsession with detail.

“We’ve been working toward this moment for some time and there’s a real sense of anticipation in seeing it all come to life,” said Neil Howie, CEO of McLaren Golf. “Behind the scenes, we challenged every part of the process – from materials to construction – to uphold the exacting standards and constant pursuit of excellence that define McLaren. To now introduce these irons to the world and see them in the hands of golfers is incredibly exciting.”

Engineering Without Limits

At the core of McLaren Golf is a question: If there were no constraints, no legacy processes, no material limitations – what could a golf club become?

In the irons category, McLaren Golf’s answer begins with Metal Injection Molding (MIM), an advanced and highly specialized manufacturing process rarely used at scale in golf due to its complexity and cost.

McLaren Golf utilizes MIM for precision control over material composition, internal geometry and mass distribution – unlocking a level of freedom not possible through traditional forging or casting. Every gram of weight, every structural element and every performance characteristic can be intentionally designed.

It is a granular process that aligns with the same philosophy McLaren applies to its supercars and race team: no detail too small, no gain too marginal.

Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Automotive said:

“McLaren Golf translates the precision and performance mindset that defines our brand into a new, relevant context. It’s a strategic extension of McLaren – designed for those who value performance, craftmanship and purpose.”

Series 1 – A Modern Tour Blade

The Series 1 is a Tour blade reimagined, engineered to challenge the assumption that true blades lack forgiveness. At address, it presents a clean, compact profile inspired by the classic muscle-back. However, beneath the surface, proprietary metal blends and precise internal weighting create a structure that enhances consistency and stability while preserving the pure feel elite players demand.

Designed in conjunction with McLaren Golf Tour player Justin Rose, and with input from other top Tour players, the proprietary metal composition, formed through the MIM process, is engineered to deliver the preferred sound and feel of a forged iron. MIM also opens the door for a unified internal weighting system that adds to the consistency, stability and overall function of the iron – effectively adding forgiveness to a blade without sacrificing workability.

Within the weight system, a significant area of tungsten is embedded within the back of the iron head to ensure a solid feel while also promoting consistent launch properties.

McLaren Structural Mesh is another defining element of Series 1’s architecture. The honeycomb-inspired pattern, also utilized on McLaren supercars, maintains rigidity and face strength while removing mass from non-critical areas. That saved weight is redistributed to provide perimeter stability, increase MOI (Moment of Inertia) and fine-tune CG (Center of Gravity), delivering added forgiveness while preserving a compact, Tour-trusted profile.

With dual-axis CG (both horizontal and vertical) uniquely optimized in each iron, Series 1 is designed for the skilled player who values shot-making above all else. We made this iron for the golfer who wants complete command of trajectory, spin and shape – and expects their equipment to respond without hesitation.

Series 3 – A Powerhouse Among Players Distance Irons

Featuring a powerful engine built around its Metal Injection Molded frame, Series 3 is a complete performance system. Internal weighting and carbon fiber elements work in unison, positioning the center of gravity with precision and stabilizing the club through impact.

The result is scintillating speed, responsive control and vibration-dampening feel.

Enabled by MIM, the internal geometry of each iron is precisely engineered to optimize weight distribution and performance throughout the set.

As with its Series 1 counterpart, a key innovation is the McLaren Structural Mesh – an intricate external architecture that redistributes mass away from non-critical areas while maintaining structural strength. This allows for increased stability and forgiveness, while preserving a clean, player-preferred profile.

Series 3 features a carbon-fiber bonnet along the back of the iron as an aesthetic nod to the brand’s racing and automotive heritage. However, this piece is about more than just looks and serves as a critical performance element. As an integrated component within the overall structure, it also impacts vibration management – refining sound and feel at impact while housing the unique calibration weight system.

Along the bottom, Series 3’s unique heel cut sole design generates speed through the ground and resistance-relief on imperfect strikes. Collectively, the sole geometry is engineered to reduce drag and control turf interaction through impact. Camber, leading edge curvature and heel cut relief work together to manage how the club enters and exits the ground – maintaining clubhead speed at the most critical stage of the swing.

“Our technology and manufacturing efficiencies, with both Series 1 and Series 3, allow us to start strong and immediately compete with industry front runners,” said Head of Engineering, Ryan Badgero. “It starts with Metal Injection Molding, which gives us complete control over material chemistry, geometry and mass distribution. That level of control allows us to design each iron as part of a system, where we have a vision and pre-determined goal that we’re able to engineer into reality.”

Both Series 1 and Series 3 irons will be priced at $375 USD / £360 GBP per club (in a stock configuration) and will initially be available in North America, Europe and South Korea through select custom fitting retailers starting from April 30, 2026 and online in North America at mclarengolf.com.

McLaren Golf is supported by 8AM Golf as a key partner, providing support and consultation through a variety of golf specific services. 8AM Golf is a holding company consisting of golf businesses and brands that are dedicated to helping golfers at every level enjoy the game more.

Team McLaren Golf

The brand’s initial roster of world-class athletes is a testament to the quality, performance and commitment of McLaren Golf. Justin Rose leads the charge and is joined by Michelle Wie West and Ian Poulter. They’re athletes who reflect McLaren Golf’s pursuit of excellence through precision, preparation and performance. All three are not just ambassadors for the brand, but investors, committed to the long-term success of McLaren Golf.

He’s known for his competitive edge and flair on the game’s biggest stages and adds a fearless presence and proven ability to deliver under pressure, as well as a deep-rooted passion for McLaren and motorsports. Poulter has been testing and preparing to put the Series 1 irons in play.

Launching in Miami

The official launch of McLaren Golf takes place on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, adjacent to the Miami Grand Prix and the PGA Tour’s Miami event, a symbolic coming together of McLaren’s worlds.

Nick Martin, Co-Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Racing said: “Miami provides the perfect stage for the launch of McLaren Golf, bringing the worlds of racing and elite golf together, at a defining moment for our brand. A powerful extension of who we are, McLaren Golf broadens our reach, deepens our relevance with fans, and reinforces our commitment to driving success at the highest level of global sport.”

The First Smart Golf Ball That Captures Crucial Putting Data, GENIUS to Make Groundbreaking Debut at PGA Merchandise Show in Booth 1715 https://ultragolfing.com/the-first-smart-golf-ball-that-captures-crucial-putting-data-genius-to-make-groundbreaking-debut-at-pga-merchandise-show-in-booth-1715/ https://ultragolfing.com/the-first-smart-golf-ball-that-captures-crucial-putting-data-genius-to-make-groundbreaking-debut-at-pga-merchandise-show-in-booth-1715/#respond Thu, 12 Feb 2026 15:22:30 +0000 https://ultragolfing.com/the-first-smart-golf-ball-that-captures-crucial-putting-data-genius-to-make-groundbreaking-debut-at-pga-merchandise-show-in-booth-1715/

(BUFFALO, N.Y.) – GENIUS – a new, first-of-its-kind golf ball featuring embedded electronics that capture crucial putting data – will debut at the 2026 PGA Merchandise Show in Booth 1715.

Benefitting golfers of all abilities and PGA coaches, GENIUS is the only regulation-size, regulation-weight smart golf ball that looks, feels and rolls like a premium, Tour-quality ball.  Its core contains a sophisticated sensor array that identifies the moment of impact, plus skid and roll of the ball, resulting in precise data that external devices cannot reliably detect.

Crucial performance metrics like velocity, launch angle, side spin, skid distance, roll characteristics, deceleration pattern, consistency across strokes and green speed are captured and, using proprietary algorithms, processed and delivered via Bluetooth to the GENIUS app on a user’s smartphone.

The GENIUS app then instantaneously shares actionable feedback specific to each user’s unique putting stroke.  The guided sessions improve alignment, direction and distance control, skid and roll quality, lag putting and other core disciplines.

Developed over five years of intense R&D by leading golf ball engineers formerly with Titleist, TaylorMade and Srixon, GENIUS delivers pinpoint-accurate insights at a fraction of the cost of high-end indoor putting studio systems. Two-time PGA Championship winner Dave Stockton, Sr., along with his fellow acclaimed putting coaches and sons Dave, Jr. and Ron Stockton, heavily contributed to GENIUS’s groundbreaking technology.

“Putting is where pros make money and amateurs make memories, and in my 35 years of teaching, I’ve never worked with a product as consequential as GENIUS,” said Ron Stockton.  “It will change how I teach and stay connected to my players 24/7.”

“Data has historically been focused on the full swing despite putting accounting for 40 to 45% of the average golfer’s strokes,” said Mike Jordan, Chief Executive Officer of GENIUS and a 25-year veteran of golf ball innovation.  “This imbalance is where the breakthrough GENIUS fits – electronics inside a golf ball identify exact problems and associated fixes, keeping the complicated super simple.”

To prevent potential information overload, captured putting data is distilled down to a GENIUS Stroke Score, a simple benchmark that tracks elite-level patterns and improvement and, through the GENIUS app, compares performance against the broader GENIUS community.

GENIUS is effective outdoors on practice greens – for everything from tap-ins to long lag putts – and indoors on mats, floors and carpets.  There is no need for setup, face stickers or alignment rods – just drop a ball and start rolling putts.

The GENIUS ball boasts a battery life of around 10,000 putts.  When a ball nears its end-of-life, the GENIUS system will automatically detect it as long as a user’s subscription is active and ship a free replacement.

Three GENIUS balls, a carrying case and annual app subscription is $240.  Initial product shipments are planned for Q2 2026 with pre-orders taken at the PGA Show.

  • Newton Golf will introduce: New Fast Motion™ fairway and hybrid shafts; New Motion hybrid shafts; and refined driver and fairway models across both families.

  • ”Match the Dots,” Newton Golf’s simplified fitting system, matches the dot specification from driver through hybrid

CAMARILLO, CA – Newton Golf Company (NASDAQ: NWTG) (“Newton Golf” or the “Company”), a technology-forward golf equipment innovator applying physics-driven engineering to golf performance, announces its participation in the 2026 PGA Show, taking place January 20-23 in Orlando, Florida.

The Company will debut new Newton Fast Motion™ fairway wood shafts, introduce dedicated hybrid shafts across all product offerings for the first time, and present refined 2026 versions of its existing Fast Motion driver and Motion™ driver and fairway shafts. This expanded product lineup follows a strong 2025 performance for Newton Golf’s shaft business, highlighted by achieving the No. 1 selling shaft position for both drivers and fairway woods at Club Champion, one of the world’s largest professional club-fitting retailers.

For 2026, Newton Golf built on the proven performance of its core shaft products, guided by extensive work with Tour and amateur golfers. The focus was on strengthening how its shaft lineup performs as a matching dot system. This approach addresses the complexity golfers face when selecting shafts between driver, fairway woods, and hybrids, where differences in weight, feel, and performance can make consistency difficult to achieve. Newton Golf’s matching dot system provides uniformity for the golfer rather than forcing them to adapt the driver shafts for fairway woods and then matching those to a different hybrid shaft.

“Our work with Tour players and amateurs showed us that converting a driver shaft for a fairway wood use is not optimal and that selecting different shafts for driver, fairway woods and hybrids is confusing and difficult at every level,” said Aki Yorihiro, Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Newton Golf. “When shafts change weight, profile, or feel from driver to fairway to hybrid, it leads to inconsistency. The new Motion and Fast Motion shafts solve this challenge by optimizing the performance of each dot (flex) consistent across every category. To simplify fitting for golfers and fitters, all they have to do is “Match the Dots” across the lineup.”

New and updated products on display at booth #1561 at the 2026 PGA Show include:

Enhanced Fiber Interaction, Improved Material Behavior and Tighter Consistency from Shaft to Shaft

  • Newton Fast Motion Fairway Wood Shafts – One of the very few shafts on the market designed specifically for fairway woods and unique demands both off the tee and turf, the lighter Fast Motion Fairway Woods shafts extend Newton’s physics-based approach beyond the driver. Unlike competitors that recommend converting a driver shaft for fairway woods by giving tip trimming guides, Newton Golf designs fairway shafts from the ground up to account for smaller but heavier clubheads, turf interaction, different spin targets and the desire for higher ball flight while improving speed, accuracy and feel.

  • Newton Hybrid Shafts (Motion and Fast Motion) – Newton Golf will introduce dedicated hybrid shafts engineered to deliver consistent feel and response across driver, fairway, and hybrid. The design helps reduce swing adjustments between clubs and improves control in scoring situations.

  • Updated 2026 Newton Motion Driver and Fairway Shafts – The Company also will showcase refined 2026 versions of its Fast Motion™ Driver and Motion™ Driver and Fairway shafts, incorporating improved consistency, streamlined specifications across the lineup, and tighter manufacturing tolerances while preserving the feel and performance characteristics that established Fast Motion and Motion as a market-leading products.

Also on display at the show will be the current full Newton Gravity putter line.

On Tuesday, January 20, PGA Show attendees will have the opportunity to test Newton Golf’s latest shaft innovations during Demo Day at Orange County National Golf Center.

From Wednesday, January 21 through Friday, January 23, Newton Golf Company will showcase its products at Booth #1561 in the Orange County Convention Center. Company representatives will be available to discuss the technology, design philosophy, and performance characteristics of the new shaft lineup.

“The PGA Show is the right stage to show how far our shaft business has progressed,” said Greg Campbell, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Newton Golf Company. “We had a strong year in 2025, and the 2026 introductions build on that momentum by making performance easier to understand, easier to fit, and easier to trust across the bag.”
