Bringing Together Power and Purpose to Support Folds of Honor Foundation

 Images: Volition LE Drive

Carlsbad, Calif.  – COBRA Golf, a leader in golf club innovation, today introduced the limited-edition OPTM X VOLITION AMERICA driver. Featuring an army green colorway and military-inspired design, a portion of proceeds from the OPTM X Volition America driver will go directly to Folds of Honor Foundation, which supports the families of fallen American military heroes by providing educational scholarships to their families.

“We’re honored to stand alongside Volition America and Folds of Honor Foundation in supporting our nation’s heroes,” said Russ Kahn, president of Cobra Puma Golf. “This partnership allows us to champion their mission and encourage others to join us in uplifting the families of those who serve.”

The Volition America driver features the OPTM X model’s impressive technologies, including POI (Product of Inertia) Shaping, Adaptive POI Weighting, H.O.T. Face and FUTUREFIT33™. The groundbreaking new low POI design of the OPTM X driver, which is delivered via both improved shaping and adaptive weighting, works with Cobra’s other metalwood technologies to reduce shot dispersion by up to 23 percent. Unlike MOI (moment of inertia), which is a measure of how resistant a clubhead is to twist on off-center hits on the vertical and horizonal axes, POI measures how a clubhead rotates diagonally across all axes at once. For that reason, a high MOI is desired to correct off-center hits while a low POI is desired to deliver more accurate shots that don’t create as much gear effect. The result is tighter dispersion down range.

The new limited-edition COBRA OPTM X Volition America driver also features COBRA’s game-changing FUTUREFIT33 ADJUSTABLE HOSEL SYSTEM, the most significant and innovative metalwood fitting technology to date. The system allows for 33 unique loft and lie settings that can be adjusted independently, unlocking an unprecedented number of fitting options.

“Volition America was founded to honor the sacrifice of our military heroes and give back to their families in a meaningful way,” said John Sapiente, CEO of Volition America. “Partnering with Cobra Golf on this limited-edition driver is a powerful way to raise awareness and support for Folds of Honor, and we’re proud to see this mission brought to life through such an innovative product.”

The limited-edition OPTM X Volition America driver retails for $699 and comes standard (right-hand only) with Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Black shaft with unique graphics and limited-edition headcover. It will be available online and at select retailers beginning April 28.

Are Cobra Golf Clubs Any Good? https://ultragolfing.com/are-cobra-golf-clubs-any-good/ https://ultragolfing.com/are-cobra-golf-clubs-any-good/#respond Fri, 20 Mar 2026 03:07:56 +0000 https://ultragolfing.com/are-cobra-golf-clubs-any-good/

Years ago, when I was a new assistant golf professional at a golf course, there was a Cobra demo day on the range. To be honest, I was letting all of the higher handicappers know that Cobra would be there, as I assumed that’s who their products would be for.

I was wrong.

In fact, that same demo day, I found a golf driver that stayed in my bag for ten years and took me through many tournaments. Cobra is not all about forgiveness, and they proved that they might be the leaders when it comes to distance.

So let’s take an in-depth look into whether cobra golf clubs are any good and who should have them in their golf bag.

Quick Facts About Cobra Golf

Here are a few of the facts that are both interesting and worth knowing about Cobra golf:

  • Cobra was founded in 1973, it was at one point acquired by Acushnet, the same company that owns Titleist, but it was sold to Puma after less than ten years.
  • Greg Norman has always been a big ambassador for Cobra Golf, but many young players will recognize Rickie Fowler and Bryson DeChambeau as professionals that support the Cobra brand.
  • The company is known for its oversized irons, forgiveness, and Baffler technology in the irons.
  • The original founder of Cobra Golf was Thomas Crow.

My Thoughts on Cobra Golf Clubs

When it comes to Cobra golf, you have to remember that the company has gone through some changes through the years. Each time they made a change, there was a slight shift in how the clubs performed, but you will notice that forgiveness through the years has been consistent.

I’m going to go through a few of the things that I think you should understand about Cobra and what it is known for. If you are thinking of new clubs, here’s what you can expect from Cobra golf.

Adjustability

Cobra was one of the first companies to introduce adjustability in a golf driver. If you have ever had the experience of purchasing a golf driver only to find out it’s not the right fit for your game, then you can understand how important adjustability is.

Having an adjustable loft is great. However, with Cobra, expect adjustable loft, lie, and weighting in many golf clubs. You will see that it’s easy to make these changes in the clubs but also to track the changes.

With the addition of Cobra Connect Technology, you can now see how much changing the loft on your driver by a degree or two really impacts your golf game. It may seem like that lower lofted shot goes a long way, but is it?

Adjustability makes golf clubs so much more valuable. When you can change your game but just make a slight adjustment to the golf club head to have it still be a perfect and complete fit for you, it’s going to save you hundreds of dollars.

Cobra Connect Technology

Cobra Connect Technology is not only helpful, but it is also fun.

It’s great to know how far you’re hitting your golf shots and to use that to help you make changes in your swing. In addition, the information that you collect can be used to make decisions on the golf course.

When you have a better idea as to how far each club goes, the game of golf becomes considerably easier. Cobra Connect Technology does not cost anything extra for some basic data, but you can get a subscription to unlock even more tools to help your game.

Companies like Ping have now followed suit and are using this Arrccos Technology in their clubs as well.

Distance

The distance used to be a bit of a struggle for Cobra. It took some time to balance out the amount of forgiveness the clubs had with the distance that players were trying to hit the ball. However, with the most recent additions to the Cobra lineup, the new Cobra RTD X line, the distance numbers are some of the best in the game.

In fact, in some early testing, the RTD-X has gone further than the TaylorMade Stealth driver. These results will vary depending on the type of player you’re, your swing speed, and the contact that you make with the ball.

Forgiveness

In my opinion, Cobra is king when it comes to forgiveness. You can hit the ball on the center of the clubface and benefit from great feel and performance. However, when you miss the center and the ball is hit in the heel or the toe of the iron, expect to still get a good distance and a straight shot.

Forgiveness can take feel away, but Cobra does an excellent job of helping players maintain the feel that they need while keeping forgiveness intact.

Handicap/Player Ability

As I mentioned, so many golfers think that the Cobra clubs are for mid to high handicappers and beginners. This group of players can greatly benefit from the Cobra clubs, but with some of the new releases, the lower handicap players are benefiting as well.

The majority of Cobra customers are certainly within the mid to high handicap range.

However, with the new line of 3D putters, the Black Wedge and the Forged Tec irons, there are truly options for any player needing new golf clubs.

Pricing/Value

Another one of the reasons why Cobra stands out as such a great golf company is the price of their golf clubs. If all other manufacturers put out a new driver at $550, Cobra usually comes in at $499.

In addition, after the clubs have been out for a few months, Cobra will typically drop the pricing a bit sooner than the other golf manufacturers in the game. The pricing and value of Cobra are really good and an excellent option for those on a budget.

Longevity

The Cobra golf driver I had in my bag worked for me for ten years. I eventually took it out because some of the new driver technology had a bit more of a benefit from a distance perspective.

However, 10 years is a really good return on my initial investment.

I can’t tell you that all Cobra golf clubs will stay like this for the entire time you use them, but they will undoubtedly have plenty of longevity. Some Cobra golf clubs are sold as beginner sets, and they may not last quite as long simply because the technology is not as advanced.

However, if you purchase a new Cobra driver in 2022, expect to have it hit many long and straight drives for you for many years.

Club Selection

Cobra golf makes every club in the game. From the driver down to the wedges, you can easily find something that will work for your game. If you find that the Cobra products are a good fit for you, expect to have a wide range of options from the driver down to the putter to fill your entire bag.

Cobra also makes some great accessories. My current stand bag is a Cobra Stand Bag that is a great color, perfect for walking or riding on the cart, and has a great pocket design and club protection.

My Favorite Golf Club Brand

As much as I love Cobra and have had a great experience with the fairway woods, hybrids, and drivers, it doesn’t stand out as my favorite golf club brand. In my opinion, the best golf club brand is Titleist.

The thing that stands out about Titleist is the fact that it’s so consistent. Year after year, Titleist will make slight adjustments to get better distance and forgiveness, but the feel and the overall performance is consistent.

Many of the top brands in golf will change each year a bit too much, in my opinion. When the clubs don’t look anything like they did previously, it’s hard to be quite as brand loyal. However, with a Titleist club, you will see similar lines from the top-down view, as well as a consistent and stable feel.

In addition, I love that Titleist makes everything from the driver to the wedges.

There are some great companies like Miura that make beautiful golf irons, but you can’t play Miura irons in the driver and fairway woods as they don’t make them. I like being able to choose a driver, fairway wood, and set of irons that all flow together.

Even though Titleist is my favorite brand, I think it’s worth mentioning that Callaway has made some great improvements in the last few years. In the years of the original Big Bertha, I could never understand why golfers loved Callaway the way that they do.

However, in recent years with the improvements in the Apex and Mavrik line, this is a brand of golf club that every player should really consider. From slow swing speed to high swing speed, Callaway has some great options.

Brittany Olizarowicz

Britt O has been playing golf since the age of 7. Almost 30 years later, she still loves the game, has played competitively on every level, and spent a good portion of her life as a Class A PGA Professional. Britt currently resides in Savannah, GA, with her husband and two young children. Current Handicap: 1

Cobra King TEC Mini driver blends control and versatility https://ultragolfing.com/cobra-king-tec-mini-driver-blends-control-and-versatility/ https://ultragolfing.com/cobra-king-tec-mini-driver-blends-control-and-versatility/#respond Fri, 30 Jan 2026 18:49:29 +0000 https://ultragolfing.com/cobra-king-tec-mini-driver-blends-control-and-versatility/

Cobra’s King TEC mini driver pairs a 303cc head with a 3-wood shaft and extensive adjustability for golfers seeking more control off the tee.

Gear: Cobra King TEC Mini Driver

Price: $479 with Mitsubishi Kai’li shaft and Cobra Lamkin Crossline grip

Specs: Titanium body with carbon fiber crown, variable-thickness titanium face insert, two interchangeable sole weights and 33-position adjustable hosel. Loft, 13.5 degrees. Length, 43.75 inches.

Available: Jan. 12 (pre-sale), Jan. 16 (retail)

Who it’s for: Golfers who want a more controllable option off the tee than a standard driver and golfers who use their 3-wood almost exclusively off the tee.

What you should know: By pairing a strongly-lofted fairway wood head that is about 40 percent larger than a standard 3-wood with a fairway-wood-length shaft and extensive adjustability, Cobra is offering a mini driver that can produce driver-like distance with enhanced accuracy.

The Deep Dive: Whether it is caused by the length of the shaft or a shortcoming in their swing, there’s always been a group of golfers who struggle to hit their driver consistently well. These days on Tour, more and more players are also using a 3-wood almost exclusively off the tee. For those reasons, we’ve seen meaningful growth in number of players opting for mini drivers since 2020. Now, with the King TEC-MD, Cobra is betting that a highly-adjustable mini driver can be a solution for even more recreational golfers.

At 303cc, the TEC-MD dwarfs a standard 3-wood (typically around 200cc in volume) but is much smaller than a standard 460cc driver. It also comes standard at a shorter finished length, 43.75 inches, which is about 2 inches shorter than most drivers. That should make it easier for recreational golfers to control the head, hit solid shots and tighten dispersion off the tee.

From a construction standpoint, the King TEC-MD has a lot more in common with drivers than it does fairway woods. Cobra gave it a titanium body and a lightweight carbon crown that lowers the center of gravity (CG) and reduces overall weight. The variable-thickness PWRSHELL face insert has a series of thicker and thinner areas that are designed to broaden the sweet spot and protect ball speed in areas where golfers tend to mis-hit shots, which means high in the toe and low in the heel.

To fine-tune the ball flight and spin rate, designers added two interchangeable weights to the sole, one in the back and the other in the front behind the leading edge. With a 12-gram weight in the front and a 2-gram weight in the back, the Cobra King TEC Mini driver produces a lower launch, more ball speed, and less spin. With the heavier weight in the back, the launch angle and spin rates rise, and the club’s stability increases. It is a simple system, but one that gives fitters and players meaningful control over how the club behaves.

The most significant fitting lever, however, is Cobra’s FUTUREFIT33 hosel. With 33 independent loft and lie combinations, it allows adjustments of up to 2 degrees in any direction without forcing one change to compensate for the other. In practical terms, that means a player or fitter can tweak launch, face angle, and lie angle independently or in conjunction with other things to personalize the flight or hit a specific distance.

Can you hit the Cobra King TEC Mini driver off the turf if you need to reach a long par 5 in two? Yes, but with just 13.5 degrees of loft and a deeper face, it could be more challenging to hit the shot high in the air than it would be using a standard 15-degree 3-wood.

The King TEC-MD is not meant to replace a driver for every golfer. And if you are a golfer who uses a 3-wood a few times a round from the turf, it might not be the easiest club it play. But if you are one of a growing number of players who use a 3-wood almost exclusively off the tee as an alternative to your driver and you want more distance without sacrificing control, Cobra’s King TEC-MD offers a compelling alternative that fits neatly into how today’s modern game is actually being played.

Cobra’s OPTM hybrids use refined shaping, POI weighting and full adjustability to help golfers launch shots higher with more predictable distance.

play

  • Cobra’s new OPTM hybrids are designed for golfers seeking consistent launch and tighter shot dispersion.
  • The clubs feature a larger profile and a variable-thickness face to improve performance on off-center hits.
  • An adjustable hosel offers 33 different loft and lie combinations for precise custom fitting.

Gear: Cobra OPTM hybrids

Price: $329 each with KBS PG Hybrid shaft and Lamkin SuperStroke Crossline grip

Specs: Stainless steel construction with variable-thickness face and 33-position adjustable hosel.

Available: Jan. 13 (pre-sale), Jan. 20 (in stores)

Who it’s for: Golfers who want a hybrid with a slightly larger profile that launches easily, flies into a predictable window and can be precisely fit for loft, lie and trajectory.

What you should know: The OPTM hybrids combine a fairway-wood-style hybrid shape with internal weighting and adjustability to help golfers tighten dispersion and produce more consistent shots.

The Deep Dive: Designing a hybrid today is less about replacing a long iron and more about managing ball flight. Launch, spin and directional control all matter more than raw distance, especially for clubs that are asked to perform from the tee, the fairway and the rough.

With the OPTM hybrids, Cobra focused on making ball flight easier to repeat. Compared with previous generations, the heads feature a slightly larger address profile and a shallower face height, changes designed to promote easier launch without sacrificing control. Those visual cues are paired with Adaptive POI weighting, which redistributes mass inside the head to reduce unwanted twisting on off-center strikes and help the clubhead rotate more naturally through impact.

The OPTM hybrids also use Cobra’s H.O.T. Face technology, a variable-thickness face design that creates multiple hot zones across the hitting area. By flexing more efficiently on off-center strikes, particularly low-on-the-face-hits, the design helps preserve ball speed and carry distance when contact isn’t perfect.

Like the rest of the OPTM metalwood family, the hybrids feature Cobra’s FutureFit33 adjustable hosel that offers 33 independent loft-and-lie combinations. That level of adjustability allows fitters to fine-tune trajectory, spin, and directional bias without changing shafts, making it easier to dial in proper gapping at the top of the set.

The OPTM hybrids are available in 3H (19 degrees), 4H (21 degrees), 5H (24 degrees), and 6H (28 degrees), paired with KBS PG Hybrid graphite shafts in multiple weights and flexes. Cobra also offers a women’s lineup that includes a 7H (31 degrees) option with lighter shafts designed to promote higher launch and easier speed generation.

As hybrids continue to replace long irons for a wide range of golfers, Cobra sees this category as a critical link between fairway woods and irons. The OPTM hybrids are built to deliver consistent launch windows, predictable distance, and tighter dispersion—traits that matter more than sheer ball speed when precision becomes the priority.

Who it’s for: Golfers who want more ball speed and forgiveness from the fairway or off the tee.

What you should know: The OPTM fairway woods build on last season’s DS-Adapt family but push forgiveness and accuracy further by re-engineering the internal structure using Cobra’s new POI shaping. Every model in the line features the Future Fit 33 hosel, the refined 15-zone variable-thickness face and carefully placed weight to maintain ball speed and tighten dispersion.

The Deep Dive: There’s always been a balancing act in fairway-wood design between distance and forgiveness. Shifting the center of gravity (CG) forward can increase ball speed and boost distance, but clubs like that can be difficult to control and challenging for some golfers to hit high in the air. However, while pushing the CG back can enhance stability and make it easier to get shots airborne, it can sacrifice speed, and for some players, generate excessive spin and height.

Cobra’s three new OPTM fairway woods aim to erase that trade-off. Each is designed with a different player in mind, but they all blend aerodynamic shaping with internal weights and geometries that tighten dispersion without giving up ball speed.

Each OPTM fairway wood has a lightweight carbon-fiber crown that frees up mass, which engineers reposition down in the head. This lowers the center of gravity (CG) location, making it easier to launch shots from tight lies while increasing stability.

Each of the clubs also boasts Cobra’s 15-zone H.O.T. Face (H.O.T. stands for Highly Optimized Topology). This variable-thickness pattern was mapped using artificial intelligence to maintain ball speed across a wider area, particularly low on the face where many fairway-wood strikes occur.

Finally, each OPTM fairway wood has a Future Fit 33 hosel. This system debuted in 2025 with the release of the DS-Adapt woodsand offers 33 loft-and-lie combinations, including 2 degrees of movement in any direction. That allows fitters to fine-tune trajectory, spin and bias for smoother gapping through the bag.

OPTM LS (14.5, 16, 17.5 degrees) – Compact and powerful, the LS (which stands for low spin) is designed for fast-swinging golfers who want to create a piercing ball flight. It features a titanium face and body, which let Cobra make the face even thinner, so it can flex more efficiently at impact while saving even more weight. Much of the discretionary mass was repurposed in the form of a large tungsten weight located behind the face. It pushes the CG forward for low spin and a lower launch angle, while a single rear weight maintains forgiveness. The LS has three weight ports and comes standard with a 14-, 11- and 3-gram weight, so the club can be configured with a draw, a fade bias, or a more-forgiving setup with the 14-gram weight in the back, the 11-gram weight in the heel and the 3-gram weight in the toe.

OPTM X (15.5, 16.5, 18, 21, 24 degrees) – The most versatile of the group, the OPTM X features a stainless-steel chassis and a carbon crown to deliver high-launching, mid-spin flight. Its CG sits slightly farther back than the LS to promote forgiveness and consistent carry. The X version has two movable weights (11 and 3 grams) with ports in the back and toe areas. This version offers the most loft options and will likely be the ideal model for the widest range of players.

OPTM Max (15.5, 18.5, 21.5, 24.5 degrees) – Designed for golfers who need help squaring the face, the Max has a 14-gram weight in the back-heel and a 3-gram weight in the front-heel. The result is higher launch, added spin and a built-in draw bias that helps reduce the severity of a slice.

Aesthetically, the OPTM fairways carry the same understated design language introduced with the OPTM drivers—black for LS, blue for X and gray for Max. The look is sleek and performance-first, a big contrast to the bright color palettes Cobra once favored.

At the engineering level, the OPTM fairway woods differ most in how they manage weight and stability compared with last season’s DS-Adapt series. The older line relied heavily on front-to-back tungsten placement and adjustable sole weights to tune spin, while the new OPTM heads also utilize shaping to reduce twisting through impact. That structural change helps each model maintain speed and accuracy across a larger portion of the face, producing tighter dispersion and a more consistent flight pattern for every type of player.

  • Cobra has released its new OPTM line of drivers, which includes four distinct models: X, LS, Max-K, and Max-D.
  • The OPTM family is designed to be Cobra’s most stable and accurate driver line by maximizing moment of inertia (MOI).
  • Each driver features a 460cc titanium head, carbon-fiber components, and a highly adjustable hosel.
  • The four models are tailored for different player needs, from low-spin performance to maximum forgiveness and draw bias.

Specs: 460cc titanium construction with variable-thickness face, 33-position adjustable hosel, and moveable weights

Available: Jan. 13 (pre-sale), Jan. 20 (in stores)

Who it’s for: Golfers who want a long, highly-adjustable driver that not only protects ball speed in off-center hits, but also enhances accuracy over a larger portion of the hitting area.

What you should know: The OPTM family represents Cobra’s most stable, most accurate driver line to date, highlighted by aerodynamic shaping, refined weight distribution and a high level of adjustability.

The Deep Dive: Over the past few seasons, several golf equipment companies have reinforced the importance of maximizing the moment of inertia (MOI) to make drivers more stable on off-center hits and help them retain ball speed when you miss the center of the face. Savvy golfers know there are actually two MOIs: one that measures how much the club twists on heel-toe misses (MOI-Y) and another that measures how the club reacts when you miss high or low (MOI-X). When manufacturers maximize both, the result is a driver with a combined MOI over 10,000 g-cm², and you’ve got a 10K driver. An ultra-stable, straight-shooting club.

With the new OPTM family, Cobra wants to take things a step further and also tighten dispersion off the tee. To do that, the company’s engineers studied how side-to-side and up-and-down twisting interacts, rather than just look at them individually. Then they developed a driver line that delivers high MOI while keeping deformation levels to a minimum. The goal, in other words, was to create the optimal driver, and they wound up building OPTM.

All four OPTM drivers are 460 cc and feature large carbon-fiber crowns and carbon-fiber sole panels to create discretionary weight. Each model is designed to be as aerodynamic as possible, they have unique shapes because the needs of players who will be using the X, LS, Max-K, and Max-D will differ.

Every driver also includes Cobra’s 15-zone, variable-thickness H.O.T. Face design and the Future Fit 33 hosel, which provides 33 adjustable combinations of loft and lie—including up to 2 degrees of movement in any direction—so players and fitters can fine-tune launch and spin conditions.

  • OPTM LS (9 degrees, 10.5 degrees) – The most aerodynamic driver in the family, featuring the deepest face, shortest front-to-back profile and a fade bias. It’s built for fast-swinging golfers who need a low-spin, low-launch setup. The LS includes three adjustable weights: an 11-gram weight in the back heel, a 7-gram weight in the toe, and a 3-gram weight in the rear. In any configuration, accomplished players should notice a more solid feel at impact and tighter spin consistency across the face.

  • OPTM X (9 degrees, 10.5 degrees) – This model is expected to fit the widest range of players. The CG sits slightly farther back than in the LS, creating a touch more launch and forgiveness. The X has two moveable weights—an 11-gram and a 3-gram—with ports in the toe and back. Placing the heavier weight in the back increases launch and spin, while moving it forward promotes a lower-spinning, slightly fade-biased flight.
  • OPTM Max-K (9 degrees, 10.5 degrees, 12 degrees) – This is the most stable driver in the lineup, with the CG pushed as far back as possible. With a single 11-gram weight in the rear, it maximizes MOI, which is well above 10,000 g-cm². Cobra feels the Max-K is the ultimate 10K driver for golfers who need maximum help on off-center hits.
  • OPTM Max-D (10.5 degrees, 12 degrees) – As the name implies, the D stands for draw. This driver has a fixed 11-gram heel weight, along with additional internal heel-side mass to help golfers who fight a slice by encouraging the clubface to square at impact.

Yes, there was a time when Cobra drivers were as colorful as holiday decorations, but those days are long gone. Visually, the OPTM lineup maintains the clean, performance-first aesthetic Cobra established several years ago, using subtle color coding—black for LS, blue for X, gray for Max-K and red for Max-D.

Increased 3D Stability Enables Enhanced Accuracy

Hi-Res Images: LINK

Carlsbad, Calif. – COBRA Golf, a leader in golf club innovation, today introduced its new family of OPTM metalwoods. Features of the new OPTM family include POI (Product of Inertia) Shaping, Adaptive POI Weighting, H.O.T. Face and FUTUREFIT33™. The four models available are OPTM LS, OPTM X, OPTM MAX-K and OPTM MAX-D.

The groundbreaking new low POI design of each OPTM driver, which is delivered via both improved shaping and adaptive weighting, works with Cobra’s other metalwood technologies to reduce shot dispersion by up to 23 percent. Unlike MOI (moment of inertia), which is a measure of how resistant a clubhead is to twisting on off-center hits on the vertical and horizontal axes, POI measures how a clubhead rotates diagonally across all axes at once. For that reason, a high MOI is desired to correct off-center hits while a low POI is desired to deliver more accurate shots that don’t create as much gear effect. The result is tighter dispersion down range.

“MOI is still important, but POI is the next frontier in terms of overall accuracy,” said Jose Miraflor, VP of Product Architecture and Consumer Connections at Cobra Puma Golf. “In design, we want to increase MOI (stability) while also reducing POI (3D twisting). POI finetunes forgiveness into directional consistency as it allows the clubhead to rotate more naturally with your swing. If you’re playing a 10k driver but wonder why hits on the high toe, for example, are still producing noticeably wild results, it’s probable your driver has a high POI design, which is a common fault of many current high MOI models.”

Each driver in the OPTM family features unique AI-Optimized POI Shaping to increase rotational stability as well as AI Optimized Adaptive POI Weighting for enhanced CG placement. Clubhead shapes are more rounded to place the CG more in the center of the clubhead, while AI-optimized external weights are placed in new locations with the goal of producing the lowest POI possible. The LS driver, which features a Tour profile and tends to work best for faster swingers, features weight ports in the high toe, mid heel and back, with 11g, 7g, and 3g moveable weights, while the X model features a Tour preferred profile and weight ports in the mid-high toe and back with 11g and 3g moveable weights. The Max-K, the most forgiving of the four models with the highest MOI, features an oversize profile for maximum forgiveness and a fixed 11g rear weight. The Max-D, which is aimed at players who desire slice correction, features a lightweight design, built-in draw bias, and oversized profile with a fixed 11g weight in the heel area of the clubhead.

“A poll of golfers asking what would inspire them to buy a new driver indicates the top three reasons are distance, accuracy and forgiveness,” said Miraflor. “Cobra is traditionally known for distance and in 2025, our Max-K driver delivered exceptional forgiveness. In 2026, we are delivering our longest, most accurate drivers ever.”

The new OPTM metalwood family also features COBRA’s patented FUTUREFIT33 ADJUSTABLE HOSEL SYSTEM, which is the most significant and innovative metalwood fitting technology to date. The system allows for 33 unique loft and lie settings that can be adjusted independently, unlocking an unprecedented number of fitting options. All 33 settings can be accessed quickly and easily on the spot, allowing fitters and golfers the opportunity to make desired adjustments in a studio, at home or on the range.

All four new OPTM drivers also feature a multi-material construction with lightweight gloss carbon crown and lightweight titanium frame. A forged face insert with H.O.T. Face Technology with 15 hot spots across the clubface delivers a higher CT across the face for more robust distance and ball speeds.
